Style Roundup: It's Giving Witchy Vibes

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling like I'm in my witchy, matriarch era. Maybe it's because I'm heading into 40 this year, but to me there's nothing more powerful than a man-repelling outfit paired with a deep trust in my intuition. And most of the time those outfits fall under one of 3 categories:

  1. Forest Witch
  2. Artsy Witch
  3. Whimsical Witch

I've gone through some personal reflection this year where I've started to lean Happy Thought Knits in a direction that feels more me—weird, quirky, and colorful, like my new Snackeys!

I'm no style guru. But since I've always been obsessed with finding style inspiration on Pinterest, I thought it would be fun to put together some inspiration here.

So keep reading and let's take a look at a few outfits I'm drooling over these days. And I'll even throw in some Happy Thought Knits pieces for good measure.

Outfit #1: Earthy Witch

I love a good vest, don't you? I plan to wear them all summer, layered or not. Almost all of my vests are either thrifted or handmade, and I love going out to thrift stores to find more when I can. I'm not a wardrobe maximalist by any means—I am a sworn Outfit Repeater if I'm being totally honest. I don't have a long neutral vest like this, although I do have a long black one. But the vibes of this outfit are very Forest Witch to me. She looks like she's going out to the nearest nursery to go plant shopping.

One thing I love about Pinterest is that I find style inspiration there, not outfits I want to replicate exactly. If I were wearing this outfit, I'd change a few things: swap out the black skirt for wide leg jeans, and the platform sandals for my favorite Seychelles suede clogs. Feels more me that way.

And to be even more me, I'll certainly be pairing my outfits with my own handmade pieces.

This summer I'll be releasing my first Happy Thought Kit. See that chunky blue purse up there? It's an arm-knit purse made with jumbo fabric yarn, and I can teach you how to make one too! Arm-knitting is done completely by hand, using no tools. That's what makes it so easy for a beginner! No juggling needles required.

I can tell ya, there's no better feeling than going out in public wearing something you made. So make sure you pre-order your Happy Thought Kit and get on the list to receive one in June!

Outfit #2: Artsy Witch

To me nothing screams "artsy" more than a neckerchief. Is that weird? I wear one all the time and love how it pulls my low-effort outfits together. I'm always wearing denim + denim and somehow, a neckerchief makes it seem so cool. I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for a shirt like this one at the thrift stores though (definitely in the men's section). I wear my denim shirt pretty much daily and I like how this one looks lightweight.

You don't need to search far for a neckerchief, luckily, because we have them here at Happy Thought! The one pictured here in this collage is the beige color. It also comes in electric blue, blush pink, and neon yellow. Yes, please!

To me, an Artsy Witch is someone who really does not care what other people are wearing or saying, because she has enough of her own things to say—through her clothing and through what she makes. Sometimes what she says is, "We don't need so much to be happy," and that's when she re-wears pieces daily. Other times, she wears what's easy to work in. She's always feeling free and easy.

Outfit #3: Whimsical Witch

Want some whimsy in your wardrobe? Add a dead snack food keychain to your bag! Heck, add two or three! Nothing's more whimsical than unexplained cute things.

I'm obsessed with red + pink together, and squiggly lines, and also oversized clothing, so this dress is really speaking to me. I also wear sneakers 99% of the time so I'm loving this whole look, really. (I also want to live in that whimsical house, don't you?)

I initially pinned this dress look in my knitting inspiration board where I save outfits, sweaters, or colors that inspire me for a new knit design. I don't have a ton saved there but I'd love to keep adding to it. Wouldn't it be cool to have like, a tote bag with that squiggly design though? I could totally make something like that on my knitting machine...

That's all, folks

Well, I'm done writing this blog post now. I hope you enjoyed my style roundup. Do you want me to do more of these, or was it a snoozefest? Let me know in the comments below!
